New Results in X-Ray Astronomy

Mon 21st June 2004

[GRB 031203 dust scattered halo] [Perseus Cluster]
Dust-scattered X-ray halo of GRB 031203 as observed by XMM-Newton. The halo expansion pinpoints the scattering media (Vaughan et al. 2004). Chandra observation of the central region of the Perseus galaxy cluster revealing fronts and ripples driven by the central radio source (Fabian et al. 2003).

Continuing the series of annual one-day X-ray astronomy meetings in the UK, this year's meeting was held at the University of Leicester on Monday June 21st. The meeting comprised invited and contributed talks from X-Ray astronomers throughout the UK, on the subject of 'New Results in X-Ray Astronomy'. The standard of the talks was exceptionally high and demonstrated the strength of high energy astrophysics research in the UK.

To complete matters all of the oral presentations are now available in Power Point format here: (presentations).
